Year Zero - OFFF Barcelona 2011 Main Titles

Following in the footsteps of Prologue Films and The Mill, PostPanic have created this year’s prestigious opening titles ‘Year Zero’ for OFFF Festival 2011 in Barcelonabcn2011/

Written by Mischa Rozema and British graphic designer, Si Scott, the opening titles reflect their dark thoughts on a possible future. Directed by Mischa and shot on location in Prague, the film guides the viewer through a grim scenario embedded with the names of artists appearing at this year’s OFFF festival.

The live action was brought back to Amsterdam for post, primarily carried out by PostPanic’s in-house team of artists but also with the additional help of freelancers and partner companies that we have enjoyed strong creative relationships with over the years. It’s really fair to say that this was a labour of love by a passionate crew of people.

Tactile Waveforms - A Stunning CGI Film By Süperfad That Imagines What Music Would Look Like

Süperfad’s latest short film, directed by Nando Costa, explores the connections between science, mathematics and music. Drawings representing a musical score are released into stylized landscapes that illustrate conditions through which sounds travel.

Desktop Orchestra. Visual Porn.

A two minute, energetic chiptune anthem by montreal artist battle lava sets the sound for an illuminated lab of thirty 24” imacs. with a mere game boy, battle lava creates novel sounds with the analog waves of yesteryear. the visuals, composed in a single flash document are split for each screen and assigned when desktop orchestra is launched. each display is controlled by a flash applet served by php and can be started and stopped on demand.

Pure epileptic joy. LOVE IT.

North Kingdom:  Create your own 3D projection mappings

Latest project by North Kingdom and Tribal DDB for Wrigleys 5 gum. So projection mapping is all the rage these days and its a nice tie in with a brand for an interactive experience to promote a product, subtle yet relevant.

Create your own 3D projection mapping and get a chance to win 4 tickets to the 5 Etienne De Crecy experience (Etienne was one of the earliest perpetuator of 3D live projection mapping experiences). Of course, if you win you could have your creation projected live on a real building!

Enjoy the experience here!

Tembo Trunks - Earbud Speakers for your music player

Simple functional design to solve a simple problem. Love it. A project i stumbled upon at Kickstarter - A crowdfunding platform for creative projects. The founders are saying its virtually indestructible, well they did run it over with a car. Anyway this seems perfect for travelling, picnics or lounging by the pool.

Pledge a minimum of 39$ to the Tembo’s team by 7th May to be one of the first in the world to get a pair of this awesome product. Are you going get one because i sure feel like it!

At nearly 400 pages of full-color artwork and editorial, Chromatic: The Crossroads of Color and Music is a dynamic print presentation of independent musicians and artists who are using or exploring color in unorthodox ways. It’s a highly saturated, prismatic presentation of some of today’s most adventurous underground artists, with the same stylistic reach and aesthetic standards that readers expect from ALARM Press.

Among dozens of other contemporary musicians and artists, Chromatic features: Daft PunkBlue Man GroupJohn Zorn / The DreamersThe Zhou BrothersJónsi & Fifty Nine ProductionsRatatatHoly F*ckAndy GilmoreDamon LocksKaki KingThe Dear Hunter, and Rob Mazurek.

CREEP “Days” feat The xx’s Romy Madley Croft.

Consisting of 2 girls from Brooklyn, Lauren Flax and Lauren Dillard. CREEP are a spectral trip hop duo that makes music reminiscent of an alternative version of my favorite band- The xx, except its are more dark, sinister and menacing - all in a good way.

Awesome and trippy video with fantastic editing. Watch this space!
